Plagiarism Note

PSM Biological Research intends to make it clear to all of its readers, contributors, writers, co-authors, and others that plagiarism will not be tolerated. PSM Editorial Board and Review Committee have agreed to take a serious look at the situation and will take appropriate measures if needed.

PSM Biological Research uses Turnitin to screen submissions for plagiarism that verifies the originality of content submitted before publication. Authors, researchers, and freelancers can also use Turnitin to screen their work before submission by visiting https://www.turnitin.com/

PSM Biological Research is dedicated to publishing only original content, i. e., research that has not been previously published or is currently under review elsewhere. Plagiarism sanctions will be applied to manuscripts that are proven to have been plagiarised from another author's manuscript, whether published or unpublished.

Duplicate Submission & Redundant Publications:

Manuscripts that are found to have been published elsewhere, or to be under review elsewhere, will incur duplicate submission/publication sanctions. If authors have used their own previously published work, or work that is presently under review, as the foundation for a submitted paper, they must cite the earlier work and explain how their submitted manuscript adds to the previous work in new ways. The improper split of study outcomes into many papers results in redundant publications.

Duplicate or redundant publication is a publication that overlaps substantially with one already published, in press, or in an electronic media submission. (International Committee of Medical Editors. http://www.icmje.org/recommendations/browse/publishing-and-editorial-issues/overlapping-publications.html)

Submissions should not have been published or be in the process of being published elsewhere. Duplicate publication is against the APA code of ethics (APA Publication Manual, 2010) and will result in the submission being rejected quickly. If the editor was unaware of the infringement and the piece was published, a notice of duplicate submission will be issued, along with the ethical infraction.

Citation Manipulation:

Submitted manuscripts that are found to include citations whose primary purpose is to increase the number of citations to a given author’s work, or to articles published in a particular journal, will incur citation manipulation sanctions.

Data Fabrication and Falsification:

Submitted manuscripts that are found to have either fabricated or falsified experimental results, including the manipulation of images, will incur data fabrication and falsification sanctions.

Improper Author Contribution or Attribution:

All listed authors must have made a significant scientific contribution to the research in the manuscript and approved all its claims. It is important to list everyone who made a significant scientific contribution, including students and laboratory technicians.

Sanctions:

In the event that there are documented violations of any of the above-mentioned policies in any journal, regardless of whether or not the violations occurred in a journal published by PSM Publishers, the following sanctions will be applied:

  • Immediate rejection of the infringing manuscript
  • Immediate rejection of every other manuscript submitted to any journal published by PSM Publishers by any of the authors of the infringing manuscript.
  • The prohibition against all of the authors for any new submissions to any journal published by PSM Publishers, either individually or in combination with other authors of the infringing manuscript, as well as in combination with any other authors. This prohibition will be imposed for the entire lifetime.
  • Prohibition against all of the authors from serving on the Editorial Board of any journal published by PSM Publishers
  • In cases where the violations of the above policies are found to be particularly egregious, the publisher reserves the right to impose additional sanctions beyond those described above. Plagiarized and fraudulent published data will lead to withdrawal and retraction of the article.
