چکیده

The increasing number of multi-drug-resistant bacteria has emerged as a cause of public health threat all over the world. It encourages the researchers to develop new weapons to deal with it. Green synthesis is a favorable approach for synthesizing AgNPs using natural resources such as plant extracts. Phyto-constituents are valuable and encouraging candidates for synthesizing green silver nanoparticles due to easy availability and diversity, eco-friendly and cost-effective synthesizing procedure for large-scale production, stability, and biocompatibility for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. The biocompatibility of these nanoparticles is linked to the coating with biomolecules of natural origin. In this issue, Numan et al. synthesize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using aqueous leaf extract of Ziziphus spina-christi (ZSC) which were found to possess significant antibacterial activities. Green synthesized plant-based AgNPs with their potential medicinal applications could be used to deal with life-threatening diseases.
